We planted 700 trees yesterday at Kamangu Primary School in Kikuyu. We had a commendable crowd join us including pupils from Kamangu Primary, Damacrest Schools and special thanks to #MitiMilioni and everyone else who joined us! #SaveOurForestsKE#GreeningKE
Join us this Saturday in Kamangu, Kikuyu from 7AM, we intend to plant 1500 trees in 5 schools, a church and a market. Let’s make Kenya green again! #SaveOurForestsKE

When we set up @GreeningKE we approached KFS for support and not only did they assign us a forested, they have us over 3000 seedlings, to our utter surprise. https://t.co/0VDpgluDyv
We must look at this desertification issue from a double pronged point of view. I've stumbled upon info that in just a few days of the logging ban, the price of a tonne of timber has moved from KSh 26,000 to KSh. 30,000. #ForestTaskforce#Greeningke
Urban afforestation is also an incredibly ignored topic! Every time I travel home to Kitale I wonder how we allowed our once evergreen town to be a dusty inheritance. https://t.co/R0EcQd0Sh5
The “Great Green Wall,” a man-made forest designed to stop desertification and fight climate change is meant to eventually cover more than 42 percent of China’s landmass. Al Gore called the initiative “the largest tree-planting programme the world has ever seen.” #GreeningKe
Today, according to the City of Johannesburg website, there are 1.2 million trees within parks and on pavements and an estimated 4.8 million trees in private gardens. #Greeninke
We do not have to look too far for inspiration, Johannesburg's title as "The largest urban forest' in the world may be a tad of an exaggeration, but hey, have a look at this! Jacaranda in full bloom, Jacaranda grows beautifully in Nairobi too, can we get here?
Apart from the obvious impacts of Urban tree planting research also shows that urban street tree planting and canopy enhancement can be a cost-effective
way to make the air healthier. #GreeningKe
Dear Governor @MikeSonko according to The Nature Conservancy Report,
Urban trees can cool down neighborhoods anywhere from 0.5 degrees Celsius to 2 degrees? We are waiting on you to lead us in greening Nairobi #GreeningKe
Last year, India planted 66 million trees in 12 hours in a record-breaking environmental campaign.More than 1.5 million volunteers were involved in the operation from 7am to 7pm. Incredible! Can we, as Kenyans find it in us to commit to our future? #Greeningke
I'd like to challenge @UKenyatta and @WilliamsRuto to create a National Tree Planting day, where EVERY Kenyan plants a tree. That would mean, on that one day, Kenya will have at least 20 million more trees in ONE day. Schools, Universities, Government Offices must lead the way.
