I’ll admit that I was a curmudgeon when Jacobellis showy move cost her a gold in 2006. But to learn about and see her persistence to fight for the gold 16 YEARS LATER? Much respect. Really happy for her. A great happy ending.
36-year-old Lindsey Jacobellis captured America’s first gold medal of the Olympics on Wednesday, riding hard to the line in her snowboardcross final a full 16 years after a mistake cost her the title.

Art was a wonderful man. Probably had more experience in the sports world than anybody at our NBC/Comcast Boston shop, but was always humble, adaptable, and friendly to everyone. And he loved his music. I remember debating obscure Beatles songs with him in the office.
One of my favorite tv production memories was a Bruins postgame show with a way-too-loud crowd behind us and Tony Amonte thinking he was off air muttering “they’re going to break the f$%king window”
I only tweet about once a year but it’s worth it for @CStiffESPN It was a privilege to work with her - always creative, unafraid to propose bold things. She has had so much impact on the sports we enjoy.
Before the #NationalChampionship game, @RobinRoberts voiced this tribute to VP, programming @CStiffESPN, who has championed the #ncaaW Tournament and women's sports throughout her 30+ years w/ ESPN. Thank you, Carol!
I’m so grateful that I had a chance to work Tommy. He’s best known for his love of the Celtics, which never wavered, but there was so much more to him.
This is a huge loss for anyone who considers the Celtics part of their family.
