DHS’s plan to use robot patrol dogs on its borders is a civil liberties disaster in the making.
The government must retract this dangerous proposal, and the Biden administration must put the brakes on our country’s slide into an anti-immigrant dystopia.

3 February 1915 | Pole Jan Baraś Komski was born in Bircza. A painter; He arrived at #Auschwitz on 14 June 1940 in the first transport of Poles (no. 564). He escaped on 29 Dec 1942, was imprisoned again (no. 152884), transferred to Buchenwald, Gross-Rosen & Dachau. He survived.
Last year, I found my Dad’s poll tax receipt among his papers. He kept it as a reminder of the barriers our family faced in voting.
58 years ago yesterday, the 24th Amendment outlawing poll taxes was ratified.
66 years later, & still no justice for the brutal lynching of Emmett Till. Carolyn Bryant Donham is the only known surviving accomplice & she has yet to be charged. It's disgraceful.
Join me & sign @EmmettTill's petition to demand #JusticeForEmmettTill! https://t.co/ZW91Ta3BE2
Indigenous communities deserve the same standard of journalism as anybody else, but rarely receive it from non-Native media outlets.
Newsrooms need to realize their lack of Native staff isn’t a diversity problem. It’s a journalism problem.
Since the March for life is trending, I would like to remind everyone that a few weeks ago, pro-lifers burned down a planned Parenthood in Tennessee. https://t.co/GebWJcDdX9
How many stories have you seen about the parents and activists pushing back against these anti-history laws? This is why I say objectivity and even balance does not exist, people just pretend it does.
This #MLKDay, I will not accept empty promises in pursuit of my father's dream.
I do not want to see photo ops of elected officials if they are not willing to put voting rights over the filibuster.
Today is a day of service and action.
Congress must #DeliverForVotingRights.
As you honor my father today, please remember and honor my mother, as well.
She was the architect of the King Legacy and founder of @TheKingCenter, which she founded two months after Daddy was assassinated.
Without #CorettaScottKing, there would be no #MLKDay. #MLK
Folks, let’s be clear. Reauthorizing the Voting Rights Act isn’t controversial or partisan – it was done by huge bipartisan majorities five times. In 2006, it passed the Senate 98-0 and was signed into law by Pres. Bush. It’s time to stop the obstruction and get it done.
One year later:
- Who planted the pipe bombs?
- Who disabled Pence’s key card?
- Who removed the panic buttons?
- Who shared the location of the non-reinforced windows?
Let’s be clear: We must pass the voting rights bills now before the Senate. And the American people must also do something more. We cannot sit on the sidelines. We must unite in defense of our democracy.
A “stray bullet” didn’t “strike a 14 year old,” as nearly every news outlet reported. LA police shot & killed w/o justification. And shot & killed a young girl in a dressing w/o doing the bare minimum to assess potential for bystanders to get shot. Then left her there to die.
