🤔 Remember that £22 billion black hole?
😡 Brexit is costing us nearly twice that much *every single year*
🐘 It’s the elephant in the room as Rachel Reeves announces her first budget.

It was lovely to see you all yesterday with @CarolineLucas and @EllieChowns , thanks for your support. Great questions and brilliant feedback. We're looking forward to seeing you at the next event. #TogetherWeWin
"The unilateral bombing of Iran by Israel does nothing to make us safer and risks full-scale war."
@EllieChowns reacts to news of widespread bombing of Iran by Israel overnight.
An amazing win for Agnes and @MidSuffolkGreen . Delighted to see this strong Green vote in my constituency, and a vote of confidence in Green-led Mid Suffolk
Huge thanks to all who voted Green and big congrats to Agnes and our local team!
Great you will continue Rachel's legacy
I’m concerned that the EHRC guidance leaves lots of unanswered questions about how services will be provided in a way that meets trans people’s needs. It feels blanket and rushed with lots still to work through. Crucial that trans people and women are listened to and involved.
Racism always lies at the heart of fascism: this time it is Islamophobia
Musk's attempts to instigate violence and hate against public figures like Mothin are shocking and shameful
We need to stand in solidarity against race hatred and celebrate our multicultural society
Tommy Robinson shared a video about paedophile gangs and vindictively used an image of Green Cllr @MothinAli
Amplified by Elon Musk, the video hit 33M views, spreading hate and lies. Mothin has no association with these crimes. He is #HeroOfHarehills
We & @GreensOfColour stand with Cllr Mothin Ali against this defamation and demand accountability.

Hi @Peston
Isn’t it time you abandoned this platform and headed over to bluesky with so many others?
We do rely on ethical journalists to show leadership
The final straw for me was being fed Tommy Robinson content on a daily basis
Hi @RoryStewartUK
Isn’t it time you stopped feeding the fascist beast and migrated across to bluesky?
I did that partly because of Musk’s support for Trump, but also because his algorithm was sending me Tommy Robinson content on a daily basis
I reacted to the US election on @bbc5live.
It is a dark day and we are right to be worried about what the presidency of a climate denialist and loose cannon will mean for the US, the UK, and the world.
The strongest reminder of why we must work together against polarisation.
I know that, like me, many of you will be feeling fearful this morning. So on this dark day, we stand in solidarity with all those who dreaded this moment and must now live with its consequences, including those in Gaza and in Ukraine. The struggle for truth, peace, and justice goes on.
I recommit myself and my party to that struggle this morning.
The politics of hatred will not win. Together, we will go forward with a renewed sense of connection with all those around the world who feel shaken by this election result but determined to continue to defend what matters: to build a safe, just, and inclusive green future.
Together we curse the darkness, yes, but we also light candles, to mark our unity and the shared power of radical hope that comes from resistance: resistance to Trump, resistance to fascism, and resistance to all those who seeks to divide us.

the £3 billion annual cost of extending the 5p fuel duty cut is roughly equivalent to the annual fare take of every bus in England — £3.1 billion in 2023. so you could nearly make every bus free for the same cost https://t.co/1bWvqcYVx8
📈In her #Budget24 speech Rachel Reeves referred to growth 32 times.
🌎She didn't refer to climate once.
🌳Or nature - not a single mention.
0⃣This gives a whole new meaning to Labour's understanding of Net Zero.
NEW microsimulation modelling from @jrf_uk.
Following #Budget2024 and the latest OBR forecasts, we find average disposable incomes are now set to fall across the parliament.
By October 2029, the average family is set to be £770/yr worse off in real terms compared with today. 1/
"How much more evidence does he need...?"
@carla_denyer asks Keir Starmer to call what is happening in Gaza a genocide following Israel's decision to ban UNRWA.
An initial rush of spending then thin pickings down the track and no mention of climate or nature crises
This #Budget2024 does little to restore public services or set us on the path to a thriving, sustainable economy we urgently need
