@TomGuytonDay@RhysBenjamin Westminster council are supposed to be building a parallel cycle route but they don’t seem very enthusiastic https://t.co/yNXdxLPRwn
what happened to the promised parallel cycle route to divert cyclists away from Oxford Street? it's currently "on hold" awaiting direction from Westminster transport lead @timjmitchell. Officers say there is "Lack of clarity on direction and delivery mechanism"

@guidoacasa@PRAVDA_KECHB If there’s legal force behind the bays that currently exist they can actually be enforced. Currently even where bay parking only is agreed under an MOU bikes still somehow end up outside them and there’s little recourse
@PRAVDA_KECHB GLA should have had something ready to go when the act got royal assent but instead they’re now saying it’ll take another year+, meanwhile huge parking issues and quite a big public backlash
@ObamaWellington@jordanbhx yeah if I had to guess it might be that they can get a higher sale price on a home if it feels a bit more ‘detached? but the result is bizarre places
@KeirStitt@ProUniversalUK the difference with your port example is the port is an international port and already has facilities and staff for that. that doesn't currently exist at this railway station also you are building a whole new thing and bringing in staff to run it
@KeirStitt@ProUniversalUK it's why Eurostar doesn't operate at ebbesfleet or ashford anymore. why have that operating cost of running an expensive staffed operation for a few trains a day when you could just tell people to go St Pancras and make more money
@ProUniversalUK those domestic trains run x4 an hour but an international service will run at most x1-2 a day (Disneyland Paris managed x4 Eurostars a week). so the frequency (and selection of available times) wont be at all convenient compared to just changing at St Pancras
