It's going to be a noisy and frightening night for dogs and cats read our top five tips below to help keep your pets happy.

[Greenwich Dogwatch @greenwich_dogs]

1. Reassure any frightened pets, give them cuddles and treats. Let them know they are safe and there is nothing to be afraid of.

[Greenwich Dogwatch @greenwich_dogs]

2. If you must leave your pets home alone tonight, cats included leave lights on and either a TV or radio playing.

[Greenwich Dogwatch @greenwich_dogs]

3. If your pet is frightened of fireworks build them a den to hide in. Do NOT leave any animal outside.

[Greenwich Dogwatch @greenwich_dogs]

4. If you're going to a firework display leave your dogs at home. They don't enjoy the fireworks at all.

[Greenwich Dogwatch @greenwich_dogs]

5. Walk dogs in daylight and before dusk tonight. There will be a lot of loud fireworks around that dogs find scary.
