@staylorish 2/ It’s also one old contract. New offshore wind auctions clear far below that and undercut new gas or nuclear. Scots pay into the same UK CfD pot as everyone else. WHEN Scotland is independent we can set smarter contracts, scrap the nuclear levy and keep the gains here.

@staylorish 1/ Beatrice doesn’t prove “wind is expensive”, it proves Westminster signed a gold-plated deal in 2014. The accounts show a CfD strike price of £140/MWh (2012 prices). Your £196/MWh is total revenue (subsidy + energy sales + profit), not the cost of making wind.
