As of the time this Grus Justice Project exclusive was released, Ottawa Police have not published the August 18 date on their public disciplinary hearings page. It continues to state only that Grus is “waiting for decision from Hearing Officer.”

Retired Ottawa Police Superintendent Chris Renwick will announce the punishment for Detective Grus after presiding over the longest, most costly police disciplinary trial in 200 years of Canadian policing.

Infant Deaths Tripled. Detective Grus Investigated Why.

Detective Helen Grus was a veteran investigator in the Ottawa Police Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit.

In late 2021, Grus and her squad noticed a cluster of unexplained infant deaths occurring at three times the normal rate. The increase coincided with the introduction of the experimental mRNA COVID-19 vaccines - and the Canadian government recommendation that the injections were safe for pregnant and breastfeeding women.

Grus reviewed the infant-death files and discovered that her colleagues had not properly investigated the deaths. Detectives had failed to ask parents routine questions about vaccines, prescription medicines, non-prescription drugs and other possible contributing factors.

Grus began investigating whether maternal mRNA COVID-19 vaccination could have contributed to the unexplained infant deaths.

Ottawa Police shut down the investigation. For good. It was never revived.

Personnel from the Public Health Agency of Canada (@GovCanHealth) interfered with and influenced the internal investigation of Detective Grus. So did the government-funded @CBC that had received stolen confidential information from Ottawa police officers who violated their oaths and committed criminal offences. Ottawa Police Professional Standards Unit refused to investigate this crime.

Politics stopped a police investigation into a cluster of infant deaths.

They targeted Detective Helen Grus instead.

Renwick Barred Every Defence Expert

Trials Officer Chris Renwick refused to hear every expert witness offered by the defence.

He barred expert testimony from three medical doctors, a retired Ottawa Police Staff Sergeant and a health-regulatory lawyer, @Shawnbuckleylaw, who is now assisting with the Allison Inquiry.

The excluded expert evidence supported the legitimacy of Detective Grus’s investigation into a potential connection between maternal COVID-19 vaccination and unexplained infant deaths occurring at three times the normal rate.

Renwick prevented that expert evidence from being heard. He then condemned Grus’s investigation as unauthorized, personally motivated and unsupported.

On March 25, 2025, Renwick found Grus guilty of Discreditable Conduct under Ontario’s Police Services Act.

A Decision That Killed 200 Years of Professional Policing

Renwick found Grus guilty for pursuing the infant-death investigation without permission from Ottawa Police command.

Renwick's written reasons declared that investigations involving “public officials” and carrying “political and societal ramifications” require the advance knowledge and authorization of police executives.

Renwick wrote that police command must give “clear and specific authorization before any such inquiries were undertaken.”

The decision killed 200 years of professional policing. It destroyed the autonomy of police officers to resist corrupt political directions.

So corrupt.

Police independence has always required officers to follow evidence without fear, favour or political interference.

Trials Officer Chris Renwick replaced that duty with a corrupt requirement to obtain permission whenever an investigation becomes politically dangerous or threatens powerful public officials.

Twenty-One Days Before the Allison Inquiry

Renwick will announce Grus’s punishment on August 18, 2026.

Only 21 days later, the Allison Inquiry will begin four days of testimony from Canadians reporting COVID-19 vaccine injuries and deaths. The hearings will take place September 8 to 11 on Parliament Hill.

Only three weeks before Canadian lawmakers begin hearing testimony about COVID-19 vaccine injuries and deaths, Ottawa Police Trials Officer Chris Renwick will punish the detective who investigated whether maternal mRNA vaccination contributed to unexplained infant deaths.

The timing speaks for itself.

The August 18, 2026 punishment decision concerns every police officer and every Canadian who expects police to investigate suspected crimes without political permission.

The @OttawaPolice offered Detective Helen Grus a deal...

If she apologized for starting her investigation - if she abandoned her duty to the public, and to the deceased infants and their families - she would be spared the ordeal of the past four years.

If she wouldn't mention that five of the dead infants died from causes that are listed as adverse effects of the COVID vaccines.

IF she would just not talk about the NINE infant deaths. that Ottawa Police are covering up.

Helen Grus refused that deal. She remained true to her oath and to her personal integrity. And for that, she and her family have paid dearly - with hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal expenses and four years of attacks.

They stopped Detective Grus because her inquiries threatened to reveal what many medical researchers – and the Pfizer documents – have since confirmed many times over: COVID vaccines can kill and injure infants in the womb and the newly born.

And so it was that the Ottawa Police – under the proven influence of Public Health Agency of Canada personnel – suspended, investigated, charged, convicted and punished Detective Helen Grus of ‘Discreditable Conduct’ over an ‘unauthorized investigation’.

They even illegally wiretapped Helen and her family in an act of intimidation that yielded no evidence.

The internal Tribunal that convicted and sentenced Helen Grus was biased to the core.

Tribunal Officer Chris Renwick refused to allow medical, legal, and police expert witnesses who could prove that Detective Grus was both correct in her suspicions and had a legal right and duty to investigate the infant deaths.

Just before Detective Grus was to testify, an Ottawa Police Inspector sent her a criminally threatening email - demanding that she withhold specific evidence and documents from the Tribunal. That’s a criminal offense in Canada: witness tampering and obstruction of justice.

The Inspector resigned shortly thereafter.

I am not angry at the conviction and sentencing of Detective Helen Grus.

I am saddened because it proves that the profession I loved and dedicated my life to is gone. Corrupt. Owned by politics and political agendas.

Tribunal Officer Chris Renwick, and Ottawa Chief of Police Eric Stubbs have no idea what they have just unleashed.
