The gap between where you are & where you want to be is called execution. Pair this with consistency and great things will happen. Just a reminder to myself.
Letting a bunch of domains expire. I started growing my domain portfolio around a year ago and funny how time brings a new perspective. My focus remains building out as many names as possible but that too also requires some thought. So less buying names and more building for me from here out.
@paulg It’s more than just phones. Social media has to wear the majority of the blame. People are more connected than ever yet more alone. My next build is going to focus on real life connections for this very reason.
My for you feed is cactus again. Just random videos from people I don’t follow. I made the mistake of watching one then it’s just a flood of crap. Each week roll the dice on how good X is. Sadly it feels broken for a while now.
I was eating alone at a sushi counter in Ginza when the chef paused mid-preparation and looked at me.
He said, in English, “You eat like you’re somewhere else.”
I apologized.
He shook his head, and said, “Don’t apologize, just come back.”
I looked down at my food, took a proper bite, and actually paid attention to it.
He nodded once and went back to his work, i ate the rest of that meal properly, every bite, nowhere else, just there, just the food, just the counter in Ginza and a chef who noticed I was absent and quietly asked me to return.
I’ve tried to eat like that ever since, come back, stay present, taste what’s actually in front of you.
It’s harder than it sounds, it’s worth the effort.
When was the last time you were fully present for something simple?
