@AaronWardDene Personally I'd love to see a widespread construction/adoption of little 4-12 unit housing co-ops in mature areas, but we've never had that in Canada, and there's no financing / development framework that would encourage that sort of community development

@AaronWardDene 100%. It's driving me a little crazy that even the provincial/federal NDP aren't putting out bold policies for constructing or heavily incentivizing non-market housing. Feels like there's an unspoken cross-party consensus that market housing supply can fix this, but it can't

@hplemke but all in all, it reflects the quiet Canadian consensus on "peace, order, and good government" as the main social values, and democracy is only valued to the degree that it supports those three
