Last week, we celebrated our amazing team at with our annual Employee Appreciation Day at Green Oak Ranch in Vista! Our @interfaithcs staff are the heart of our mission, supporting over 19,000 individuals last year alone. Big thanks to our HR team for organizing!

Been thinking so much about Peter Seidler and the impact he had helping our homeless neighbors. Peter connected with unsheltered people nightly, understood their challenges, and helped.
Here is his first ever podcast, a few years back. You should listen

When I wrote this just a few days ago my thinking was “We can do better.” The response since from law enforcement leaders, non profit leaders, and parents with kids in the same situation as Steve, all lead me to know that we WILL do better. Positive change is coming.
Opinion: We knew Steve Olson. His death at the hands of Escondido Police shows just how broken the system is. - The San Diego Union-Tribune https://t.co/33UBN01zbM
@HomelessnessSD@interfaithcs The social workers were present to assist indiviudals with resources including shelter in an emergency motel program. Michael I don’t understand the concern with us trying to help people.
@HomelessnessSD@interfaithcs Interfaith works with the Oceanside HOT on a daily basis to connect individuals to resources and services. The team of social workers has been engaging individuals in this area for several weeks, often on a daily basis.
@HomelessnessSD@interfaithcs We're not concerned about messaging, but we're very concerned about all people at risk of and experiencing homelessness. We take every opportunity we can to help each person in the best way possible.
@HomelessnessSD@interfaithcs Michael we @interfaithcs are there to help connect people to services and housing. I think you know we work in client-centered, trauma-informed ways. Last month we led this outreach: https://t.co/7VnMeISADV
"We must commit 2021 to working together in partnership, not as liberals and conservatives, but as people, as San Diegans, to address these inequities."

Omar thank you for highlighting this critical work. Homelessness is not just an affordable housing crisis. It is a crisis of community. Omar and Janey recently shared more on our podcast: https://t.co/csTtrZQ1Re
Black/African Americans are only 5% of San Diego, yet 27% of our homeless population . Why? Unjust legal system for one. Kimberly lost everything when she was convicted of a crime she didn’t commit. Hear her story. Demand change. #BlackLivesMatter https://t.co/P6V6gX6PmH
Right now you can see our Escondido headquarters in action, including our partnership with @NHCare1969 to help the most vulnerable with onsite COVID-19 testing https://t.co/d7DDJ1YWx0
@kellylynndavis@JamesPRudolph ...and in North County the lack of entry-level, studio / SRO units is THE BIGGEST hurdle to ending homelessness for the elderly and disabled. You couldn’t be more right @kellylynndavis
@kellylynndavis@JamesPRudolph Most recent countywide census found 4,476 unsheltered homeless - so yeah I’d say there’s a pretty direct line between that and the loss of 4,000+ SRO units! https://t.co/6WSiYR4ztM
So, did we forget how to make stuff? The height of US consumerism may be that we only know how to buy what we need rather than produce it. Let’s help our sick and those caring for them by manufacturing needed supplies, and employing 6 million people who lost their jobs last week.
