Puka Nacua, who turns 25 tomorrow, says he has “learned it’s OK to ask for support” during his eventful offseason. He’s worked with a team therapist, attended weekly meetings and started journaling since he got out of holistic rehab. Says his contract is not on his mind.

Ducks and SD Gulls owner Henry Samueli’s nonprofit Rinks Foundation says it wants to build a public 3-sheet ice complex in Escondido that would also serve as the Gulls’ practice facility. Smaller but similar project to Irvine’s Great Park Ice, which is a big success.

FINAL Padres 1, Dodgers 0. San Diego throws a 5-hitter in the clubs' first meeting of the season, with Michael King giving 7 sharp innings & Mason Miller finishing strong after a rough start to the 9th. Yamamoto was also v good, but Pads snap Dodgers' 5-game winning streak.
