Prayers to my Clark family. 1 year has passed since we lost one of the most realist guys I ever had the privilege to call my best friend. Became my brother. I hope heaven is treating you right. Miss you more than you know. 🕊️Kenny Clark🙏🏽
Coaching is a thankless job, with little appreciation given. Long hours, constant criticism, you win it is all the kids, you lose it is all your fault. Thank you to the coaches out there rocking it. We do not hear that enough. Bless you all.
I believe most parents are no longer upset their kid isn’t getting recruited…
They’re upset the truth doesn’t match what they’ve been told and sold for the 10 previous years and they are just realizing it.
I am not getting into the debate of right or wrong on coaches part.
It’s a hard cold realty
Parents, please don’t be “That Parent” that costs your kid a college opportunity
Please allow your kids the experience & growth that comes from learning to solve their own problems.
I’m not saying to not “guide and advise”. I’m saying allow them the privilege & opporunity to grow.
As an AD, I remind our coaches their job is to develop athletes but also play the best players to win. There will always be parents upset about playing time, and there will always be parents upset about losing. So you might as well coach to win while continuing to develop your athletes the right way.
Gilbert Junior Camacho is a steal for any coach who’s looking for a guard who can facilitate, score when need be, and rebound on both sides of the ball. His accolades speak for themselves.

Coach K shares a universal truth about success, resilience, and growth.
"When you're getting your butt kicked, it's called changing a limit."
"So many parents today don't allow their kids to change limits...They're worried about them failing instead of learning. You learn through the experience of failure and success."
Growth requires discomfort. You have to be willing to look bad before you get better.
The problem isn't failure - it's protecting people from it.
"Failure was never a destination."

“When you allow your children to grow up it’s a direct, direct reflection of your parenting. If you hover over them all the time and they can’t work through problems, they’re going to have some issues. You’ve got to let them work through problems because they’re working through the things you’ve instilled in them,” Dawn Staley
Let them learn.
Coach Cal praised HPU for flying students out postgame.
He added: “Administrations win championships. Coaches win games. In this era of NIL, if you’re not totally into it and they’re not committed, you’re not winning. You just can’t. And High Point is.”
Worth the full listen.
Charles Barkley on Tom Izzo:
"He's one of the few coaches who can still yell at his players. We got these babies out here now... The last couple of years, the media, who don't know anything about sports because they never played, say, 'Why is he yelling at his players?' That's called coaching. He cares. If you don't want to be coached you probably shouldn't come to Michigan State. I love the fact that he never backs down. Your job as a coach is to coach your players. If their parents and they friends get mad because you're getting yelled at, you get better parents and better friends."
Tom Izzo shares an uncomfortable truth about earning your spot.
"You play real good, you start. You don't play as good, you work your way back in."
"That's the American way - except America has gotten soft."
You don't get what you want in life - you get what you earn.
It starts with showing up and earning it every single day.
No shortcuts...Just hard work.
