This morning, I received a court-issued stay order concerning the dismissal of Hon. Catherine Mutanu as the CECM Finance.

As a law abiding citizen, I respect the rule of law and will fully comply with the court order, allowing the judicial process to take its course.

Visited the Machakos Mitumba Market following the devastating fire that destroyed businesses and merchandise, leaving over 200 traders counting heavy losses.

My heartfelt sympathies go to all those affected. To support their recovery, I have made a personal contribution of KSh 1 million. In addition, my administration will restock every shop destroyed in the fire with merchandise worth KSh 50,000 to help traders get back on their feet.

I also urge the relevant security agencies to conduct thorough investigations into the cause of the fire and ensure measures are put in place to prevent similar incidents in the future.

My administration remains committed to improving the welfare and education of our young learners through the School Feeding Programme, a transformative initiative that continues to strengthen Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) across Machakos County.

We are currently distributing food supplies to all ECDE centres across the county to ensure every child has access to nutritious meals that support healthy growth, enhance concentration in class, and improve the overall learning experience.

The programme has significantly boosted enrolment and improved school attendance, giving thousands of children a conducive environment to learn, grow, and realize their full potential. Through this investment in our children, we are laying a strong foundation for a brighter future for Machakos County.

This modern facility is designed to provide safe deliveries, timely emergency obstetric services, specialised newborn care, and quality postnatal support in a well-equipped and dignified environment.

It is an important investment that will improve health outcomes for mothers and children while easing access to essential healthcare services for families in Kangundo and the surrounding communities.

My administration remains firmly committed to investing in the youth of Machakos County through impactful programmes that equip them with practical skills and open up economic opportunities.

This Wednesday, 15th April 2026, I will officially launch a Youth Empowerment Programme at Nguluni Market in Matungulu West Ward, Matungulu Sub-County. The programme will focus on motor vehicle and bodaboda driving training, targeting youth from all the 40 wards across the county.

Upon successful completion of the training, beneficiaries will be issued with driving licenses by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), empowering them to earn a living and build a better future.

Together, we are creating pathways to employment, dignity, and self-reliance for our young people.
