A cracking Wheatear at Dowdeswell Reservoir yesterday (no sign early this morning). Only my second ever there after a bird on 23rd April 2012. #patchgold#Glosbirds.
Cracking couple of days @spurnbirdobs with @Gregmabbs. Sunday; Little Bunting & Pec Sand then mega arrival of thrushes Monday with Redwing & Blackbird pouring in. 4 Yellow-browed Warbler, Leach's Petrel, Ring Ouzel, Jack Snipe, Shorty some of the 110 species seen. #Spurnbirds
When my patch-watching buddy sent me a vid of a Black-winged Kite, I assumed he was on holiday in Spain, then the text came through "Saul Warth now". Brilliant find by @UKGords & lucky I'm only 20mins away. Seen better than the pics, not helped by the strong sun. Big ✅#GlosBirds
What an evening in the Forest of Dean with @naturetrektours. My first ever Pine Marten in the forest! A magic moment. Followed by an amazing Nightjar display. Woodcock,Spotted Flycatcher, Tree Pipit, Toads. Thanks to group member Andrew Worth for the photo #Glosbirds#PineMarten!
‘Sweden begins wolf hunt as it aims to halve endangered animal’s population’ [to a pitiful 170 individuals]
Imagine if the outcry if this were Sri Lanka killing leopards, or Botswana lions, both much trickier animals to live with.
Shame, shame on Sweden. https://t.co/QBcvdUJCup
