Seeing someone else's post today reminded me of the only Quail I've ever seen. A chance encounter with a spooked bird (I've since learned they're reluctant to fly) if flushed, found on Down Rd, Marshfeild, South Gloucestershire in 2017. This the best of the lot & heavily edited.
Another lifer for me this evening, a small, weird, bubble sound making quail. I was under the impression they were skulky, this one flew a few times and even sung in view for a few minutes! Corn bunts, yellow wags, marsh harrier, grey parts also at Rixton Moss @CAWOSBirding
With all the going’s on in London today, let’s take a brief moment to appreciate one of nature’s heroes.
A swan had a fishing hook stuck in its mouth so one man took it upon himself to fit it.

@eddyedwards6859 I can't believe they are keeping him and losing out on Alonso. It just doesn't make sense. The team was poor towards the end of last season, and there hasn't been an improvement this season...
@CarlBovisNature Mine picked up a long eared owl and short eared owl on a walk on Longshaw Estate in the peak district last week, which I doubt very much.
