@PastorBenMarsh @sbaprolife A friend in Winston had an individual come to their door with a similar agenda- she ended up yelling at my friend, going to her car and looking up who lived there, came back and pounded on my friend’s door with both fists while yelling their name. Glad yours wasn’t as crazy!

That latter part is where mainlines and fundamentalists parted ways 100+ years ago. That definition comes from MacBeth’s “Baptist Tradition” but is echoed in similar works.

For decades, conservative evangelical power brokers defined "truth" in terms of what advanced their idea of Truth--which neatly aligned w/ their own agenda.
They founded institutions, organizations, publishers, & media platforms to advance, defend, and perpetuate this Truth. 🧵

@_taylor_TJ @PastorBenMarsh My grandpa had two of them. He cut the top and back off of them and used them like giant pickup trucks. One time he got the whole extended family in the back with rocking chairs and couches and drove around the countryside. So…do that.
