@mbiti_mwondi It wasn't perfect, nor modern. It was functional. If Europeans were so bright, what did they need Africans and Africa for? Is success measured by how many people you kill? By how many illnesses you cure? Or by your relationship to community? To the land? To humanity?
@mbiti_mwondi There are nuances here. What's the education about? If education is based on tilling the land, and iron works, things that are relevant to a primitive african society, is the education irrelevant? What do you need train tracks for if the community next door are traders?
@mbiti_mwondi They coexisted by and large rather harmoniously. They had no need to develop as Europeans did. No need to conquer other continents when yours is rich. Any other difference came from systemic colonization, slavery, robbing Africa of its resources, and interference.
@mbiti_mwondi It was a very lazy take. For so many reasons. Key among them, why should success be measured using Eurocentric parameters? It starts from a point of assumption of Europe being the standard. Variation and difference is not deficiency. Africans had no reason to develop as Europeans
