@sekeresandprice Legit question, but the framing mixes roles. Hughes drives the entire system from the back end, while Rossi is a details driven center. Utmost respect for Rossi’s game. Hughes was foundational to Vancouver’s transition and offence, so yeah he’s missed --even if I don’t miss him.
@sekeresandprice@YellowDogBeer Hard to quantify who's the best young player. A better way to frame it is who has the highest ceiling. In Buium’s case, upside would be something like Quinn Hughes lite, a dynamic puck moving d-man who can drive transition, run a power play, if everything breaks right Greg, Socal
@mattsekeres I’d say yes. Calling this a critical deadline misunderstands how rebuilds work. It’s a multi-year process and a lot still comes down to lottery luck. All you can do is stack picks and improve your odds. Blueger doesn’t move the needle in the big picture. Onwards.
@sekeresandprice I’d say yes. Acquiring draft capital at the deadline is a pretty clear signal they’re committing to a rebuild. The real question is whether they can sustain it and resist the usual temptation to shortcut the process - Greg, SoCal
@mattsekeres The only argument is continuity. Ownership may not want another front office reset right as the team potentially pivots toward a rebuild. That said, there’s a good chance we see a regime change after next season anyway given JR's contract.
@ChrisConte79 That's actually a great idea. State of the art customized stationary barge concept with 2 sheets in False Creek right next to Rogers Arena.
