Losing Ted Turner, Bobby Cox and even one-time Braves radio announcer John Sterling in the same week is just a brutal series of gut punches. The core of the Braves on TBS that made me a lifelong fan.
I joined ISU Athletics 18 years ago as an intern, the lowest on the totem pole in the department. Jamie Pollard met with me, 1 on 1, and was invested in relationships with staff. Just as gracious when I left for a full-time position 5 months later. I’ve never forgotten any of it.
@OneandOnlyGregV …but he’s got 🔥 pregame pics and 7,000 followers on the IG. And after a great conversation with an “agent” who’s graciously offered to only take 20% of his potential future earnings, it is in fact, God’s plan.
Me, to UCLA Public Address Announcer: I have to mention… we’re the Broncs, not the Broncos.
PA Announcer: Oh, I know. Remember, you’re in LA. A Bronco is what drives down the 405 freeway.
Our first win of the day goes to the UCLA public address announcer.
@MilesMcQuiggan I don’t know him… but with that energy, I can see a rest stop gas fill up, getting out of the car despite mandated New Jersey fuel attendant and chatting up said attendant about how they don’t make them like they used to.
@DOBrienATL@EOF34 I’m listening to @755ForeverPod now and thinking about the question of what makes a 1st Rounder successful. Does contributing to a WS alone make Ian Anderson and Kyle Wright hits that high in the draft or would you consider them misses?
