home depot has fallen off... bunch of disinterested people walking around with scanners and no expertise
that place used to rule. you'd have a project and a 67 year old ex-foreman named Big Jim would walk you through your entire project. no more...
my local Ace Hardware is where it's at now. that's where Big Jim and Joe and Old Ed, the guy who owned a plumbing business for 30 years, work now... happy to help and talk your ear off about washers and lug nuts for twenty minutes... you know, the good stuff.
The Suns announced a four-year extension through 2030 with Arizona’s Family to broadcast all games entirely free for their local audience.
“It’s maybe not the most financially successful decision, but it’s the right decision,” Suns owner Mat Ishbia said.
Most Christians already believe in a Mormon heaven.
Stand at any funeral and listen, “I’ll see her again,” “he’s waiting for me”, they mean it the way Joseph meant it. Her actual face. Him, recognizably him.
But that’s not what their churches teach. The creeds promise union, vision, dissolution into glory. Joseph Smith is the only one who promised you the person. And the only one who built an explicit path to keep them.
In a world obsessed with novelty, one of the benefits of canonized scripture is that it forces people to reread something over and over, to explore its depths.
The fact that Counting Crows came out with August and Everything After in 1993, during the height of the grunge era, makes it all the more impressive. Totally unique vibe and sound for that time, and still resonated with the youth. Plus there's not a bad song on the whole album.

A back story after the passing of former Jazz player Jose Ortiz:
Utah took him with the 15th pick in the 1987 draft. The Jazz had targeted mini-point guard Muggsy Bogues — envisioning him as John Stockton’s backup — but Washington surprisingly took Bogues at No. 12.
The tsunami that hit Indonesia's Aceh Province in December 2004 killed more than 200,000 people and left many more homeless and hungry. Two days later, 'hardline conservative' Pres. Boyd K. Packer rang Alwi Shihab on his mobile phone, providing a model for all Saints to follow.🧵
NEW: Police airlift a crocodile with the body of a 59-year-old businessman inside.
Local police in South Africa say they suspected the crocodile ate the man after observing it from drones. They then shot it and airlifted it off.
When they landed back on the ground, the crocodile was sliced open, and human remains were found.
The remains are believed to be those of 59-year-old Gabriel Batista, who had previously been swept away in raging floodwaters.
His ring was found inside the animal along with six other pairs of shoes, which authorities fear may belong to other victims.
On Monday, Batista reportedly tried to drive over a flooded bridge to reach his hotel and bar, but he and his truck were swept into the water.
He was then swept down the river, where crocodiles were waiting for prey. It is unclear if Batista was already deceased when he was eaten, but authorities believe some of his other remains may have been eaten by other crocodiles.
