In terms of SW BC and SW BC only. I really hope the CMC model run stays like this. What you are seeing is a storm strength similar to November 13-15, 2021, except WA is about to be absolutely fucking rocked by what would also be a Category 5 Atmospheric River. In the November 13-15, 2021, Storm, the colors were exactly like this, except all targeted at SW BC.
I want to be very clear. We will get hit hard in this Storm tomorrow in SW BC. But nowhere near as bad as WA is about to see.
In WA, they are in big time trouble. River forecasts are showing many of them reaching major flood stage criteria. Landslide potential here is also very high. This is a potentially catastrophic storm for some in WA over the next 4 days. If you live in SW BC, take precautions as needed. But I do ask to please be thinking of our neighbors down in WA. This is our November 13-15, 2021 Storm, except it is aimed straight at WA this time. Some mountain areas will see 300+ mm of rainfall in a 72-hour period. With already saturated soils and high snow levels, that will all be run-off and flowing down into the valleys.
I will storm chase if I can. But I am not going to be putting myself at risk of being trapped by mudslides. #bcstorm
