If we do not rise and confront this menace, we risk leaving behind barren lands and poisoned waters for the next generation. Illegal mining is not just an environmental problem - it is a slow death in disguise.

Together with the Media, we visited Agona Kwanyako in the Agona East District this afternoon to provide the evidence as requested by Government.

Agona East in the central region has no mining and have never seen gold before. But here they are suffering from effects of Galamsey from far away eastern region.

Innocent citizens of Agona East are suffering for something they know nothing about.

It’s time for the NDC Government to act and simply implement what they promised.

The evidence is here and it’s right in the home of the Minister for Government communications.
