The first time I ever learned about the digital divide, it was through this website created by Stanford University students: https://t.co/S5g90I8IiO
To solve this problem, we need better internet infrastructure globally as pictured below:
Climate change is likely going to make the world sicker, hungrier, poorer, gloomier and way more dangerous in the next 18 years with an “unavoidable” increase in risks, a new United Nations science report says.

Far too many Americans still lack access to affordable high-speed internet. That’s why our Bipartisan Infrastructure Law will expand internet access, help lower prices for internet service, and help close the digital divide.
The first few lessons have been interesting to go through having spent the last 2 years in an online environment. Becoming used to this format makes it easy to be unaware of what we're actively doing while learning on a digital platform #EM203Robin
@unirams203 I'd have to disagree that the internet is accessible to EVERYONE. There are issues with rural populations not being able to access the internet, or issues with affordability. There definitely needs to be more infrastructure regarding the digital divide!
@EM203AZedor You bring up great points about effective communication - I think social platforms can remove barriers to communication through being able to talk to people near and far!
@em203amccarles Great point! I think it's important to see the opposing view for those who do not have technology and may be limited in becoming educated as a result. The digital divide is very real!
From week 2 I learned that learning by doing can be a more effective approach than simple classroom learning as you are required to interact with the environment and adapt as needed which can be incredibly insightful #EM203Robin
