@LawrieBrewster When I first watched Ringu on DVD, one of the extras was the video that condemned the victims to death. I genuinely could not bring myself to watch it for quite some time, and when I did I was actually terrified my phone might ring just after!
@Bermondsey_Bill@ilovenostalgia Yeah, I agree, it's very clean. My first thought was one of those FPGA-based replicas, but the disk drive made me wonder if it was genuine. Need to raise a question in parliament to find out! π
@Bermondsey_Bill@ilovenostalgia Different layout of keys around the space bar between them too. I'm hoping it's the real deal so I can have some faith restored in the integrity of our politicians (even if I'd prefer him to have an Atari 800) π
@Bermondsey_Bill@ilovenostalgia Possibly, but the number of function keys is different (5 on the PC, 4 on the other one) and the black strip on the LHS of the PC isn't there in the photo. I still think that looks like a Commodore disk drive and cassette deck in the photo. Could be some sort of a repro, though.
@belfastcc@herbie_belfast So our brown bin wasn't emptied today and is full to the brim. What do we do for the next 2 weeks? Can we put food waste in the black bin? Just got our rates bill and honestly wondering what we're actually paying for. Bins often left unemptied even when no strike action ongoing.
It's that time again: the can-I-get-an-obscure-British aeroplane-the-Edgley-Optica- retweeted-1000-times- for-no-reason-challenge-please? https://t.co/zJ9EiD5kiL
@QueensAccomm@danny_robins Really enjoyed the episode about Room 611. I was in Room 511 in Alanbrooke 30 years ago. My wife's late aunt worked as a cleaner in that hall for many years but unfortunately she passed away several years ago so we can't ask her about it
@BinaryDinosaurs@hen_hank@pndc I remember reading back in the early 80s about a 'hack' for the ZX81 keyboard. Each key had a circular hole in the case beneath it, if you traced round the outline with a biro pen the centre of the key would pop up like a blister and it was apparently a bit more tactile.
@BinaryDinosaurs I still remember the excitement of seeing that 'K' in a little black square... and the sheer rage and frustration at the screen glitch that meant the ram pack had wobbled 4 pages into a 5 page type-in program. Sad news to hear about Sir Clive.
@BinaryDinosaurs I powered mine up a few months back and was horrified when some of the keys didn't work. But I disconnected the ribbon cable and used a tiny wire brush to clean the oxide off the metal pins at the end of the ribbon cable and all was well with the world again. π
