1. Don't play the woman card. You were not criticized for your gender, but for your choice of clothes in an ad. You are bringing gender into this to make it a women's issue and seek wider support from women and male feminists. It's not a gender issue. Even Ranveer Singh was criticized on Twitter for a nude photoshoot. He didn't play the gender card.

2. Personal choice stops where public commercialization begins. What you wear off-camera is entirely your prerogative. You've been in this business for years. Until now, nobody bothered you about your choice of clothes. You know why? Because nobody actually cares what you wear. The outrage here comes from a commercial choice: sexualizing a deeply sacred festival celebrated by millions. Context dictates appropriateness. If a male actor appeared bare-chested while portraying the brother in that exact scene, the public pushback would be identical. The issue is sacredness and context, not gender.

3. Claiming "clothes don't define culture" directly contradicts human history. Attire is a foundational visual language of every global tradition, you cannot wear a Kimono and call it Indian ethnic wear, nor can you strip a festival of its sacred aesthetic without altering its significance. If attire truly has zero bearing on cultural respect, then tomorrow is Eid. Can you wear that exact same outfit you wore in that ad and wish Eid Mubarak? You said clothes don't define the respect you have for culture in your heart. So do it and we'll take our criticism back.

Respecting a tradition means honoring its context, not commodifying it under the guise of fashion.

100% agree that “mythology isn't history,” but of course you can't preach this here.

Archaeological excavations and the PGW culture, the submerged ruins around Dwarka, evidence excavated from the Kurukshetra region, the geography described in the Mahabharata, and archaeoastronomical references are not exactly things you can just wave away.

These may not establish every detail on their own, but they certainly make “just a mythical story” a stupid point.

In India, unfortunately, education means school infrastructure, brightly coloured benches, mural paintings on walls, and brightly painted walls. That’s it.

No one talks about the quality of teaching, because the moment the quality of teaching is discussed, merit will be discussed, reservation will be discussed, and no political party is comfortable talking about it.

Vegetables become “vegitable” and deer becomes “dear,” but hey, look at the benches they’re so good! Look at the wall paintings they don’t even look like they belong in a school in India! Show them the quality of education, and it looks like school in Bangladesh.

This is what happens when people who have themselves failed basic exams three times demand improvements in education, while those who are genuinely educated and believe in merit no longer see any hope.

I made a questionable decision to spend time comparing a ~4,500 year old city with Gurugram.

MOHENJO-DARO vs modern GURUGRAM, with a special focus on drainage, wastewater, water access, natural water systems and the ancient art of making rainwater go somewhere useful.

The results are surprisingly uncomfortable (for one of the two cities😂)

Before anyone starts a civilisational war in the replies, this isn't a scientific engineering audit. The cities are completely different in scale, climate and context, archaeological figures are often estimates, and some comparisons are necessarily imperfect.

Still, I think there's something worth looking at here.

No matter how hard the people suffering from it protest and raise their voice, it is never going away. SC, ST and OBC make up the major chunk of the voter base of any political party. And no matter how hard they try to portray themselves as caring about UR people, they will never touch reservation because they know they will go out of power. It's as simple as that.

Just pray that the day never comes when they implement it in the private sector too, or make it 70, 80 or 90 percent. Believe me, they won't remove it, but they for sure can increase it, and we can't do shit about it.

Nor should they have any loyalty to such gimmicks. The only loyalties one should have are to the nation, family, parents, friends, etc. Definitely not to a political party, whether it’s BJP, Congress, AAP or CJP.

You say reservation is necessary because social discrimination still exists. But how exactly is reservation going to end social discrimination?

If a Dalit is stopped from entering a temple, not allowed to study in a school, abused with casteist slurs, or discriminated against, we already have the SC/ST Act for that. Punish the person doing it. Put them in jail. People will be scared of doing such things.

People don't stop discriminating because of reservation. On the contrary, when hardworking people's opportunities are taken away because of reservation, it creates more resentment among people. Doesn't that end up increasing social divisions and discrimination even more?

And now we cannot even talk about abolishing reservation, forget actually abolishing it? What kind of democratic attitude is this? Is debating a policy also wrong now?

Reservation is constitutional, but that doesn't mean debating it has become unconstitutional.

ऐसे में आरक्षण की आवश्यकता को कैसे नकारा जा सकता है?

मैं पूरे विश्वास के साथ कह सकता हूं कि जब तक मैं यहां हूं और जब तक रामविलास पासवान जी का बेटा चिराग पासवान सरकार का हिस्सा है, तब तक आरक्षण की व्यवस्था को कमजोर या समाप्त करने की किसी भी कोशिश को स्वीकार नहीं किया जाएगा।
