I like to overthink things, aspire to create things, and learn. Here are my thoughts, poorly explained and out of context, with a hint of making myself laugh.
I swear if you stay up past midnight, YouTube hits you with all the out-of-pocket recommendations like binaural chakra tarot readings, AI ASMR batman doing positive affirmations, and Milton's Paradise lost scrolling over footage of Schwarzenegger doing military presses to Chopin.
@premier_two Oh snap! Happy birthday, man. It's mine tomorrow. 36. I also moved away to teach like 15 years ago, and am still in that terrible scam jobs phase of life. You are the premier senpai, dude. 🎂
One of the weirdest things you encounter as a neurodivergent nobody warns you about is the game hunter type. People obsessed with breaking you, controlling you, leashing you — like you are their white whale or some mythical creature to be conquered. They don't let you be human.
@MensHumor It's wild how they will read like 1 management book, attend a grifter's seminar in Las Vegas, and suddenly think they are a charismatic leader.
People are rarely as distinctly informed as they need to be, but more as they care to be, as is convenient or most accessible. This is where the popular lies, because it holds the greatest numbers. Popularity meaning anything beyond the sum of its parts undermines democracy.
@inkfycreates Even the shōnen or seinen split has just become: Punching but power of friendship happy endings + bright colors = shōnen. Punching but dark and edgy + sex and tragedy = seinen. It's tiring. I feel like we have creeped into needing another category. Seinen ≠ Sophomoric shønen.
@5af10z It's just understanding that objective and subjective mean different things, and being self-aware enough to know when and where that applies to what you like. I wouldn't tell a fine craftsman his work is crap, because I don't like it. Nor try academically defending slop I enjoy.
I'm surprised that christians aren't more vocally opposed to AI. If god threw us out for becoming self-aware, isn't giving self-awareness to sand like eating the last fruit in the garden of Eden?
My duck died last night. She followed me all day yesterday but I didn't understand she was telling me she felt sick. I had medicine but I took her back to the pond at night. The others didn't keep her warm, so she died alone. I found her as a duckling. I feel like I betrayed her.
Being with someone who can entertain themselves will add years to your life. Walking in with some hot chocolate for them, asking what's inspiring them about their current project, and then leaving them in peace to it is a fabulous way to live.
@politicalawake Critic reviews needs to be split between Critical Craft reviews and Social Relevance reviews. I'm tired of never knowing if something is well-made or just a hot topic right now. I already can't trust Audience scores alone to tell me if something is actually good.
@weeb_ams Ichirō Ōkouchi also wrote Witch From Mercury. You Code Geass fans might like it. I went for top 10 because even though I prefer the writing in other series, I couldn't leave Zechs and Char off my list.
Our senses lag reality by 0.1s. For instant reactive tasks, like balance or catching a ball, the cerebellum makes predictive models to compensate. Errors refine motor skills with practice to align with projections. Do you feel the projections like ghost data, or just dream it?
