yo I resolved this issue. If it happens for anyone else, here's what you do:
1) go to your blockbench model
2) press "File," then "Convert Project"
3) depends, in my case i was making a block, but pick the option that applies.
4) the file extension should be .json

For whatever reason, this model does not work on Fabric, but works perfectly fine on Neoforge. I don't know if it's some difference in code, but for the life of me I can't figure it out.
