The dangers of glufosinate as a solo spray on rye grass - needs to have additional spikes to assist and ideally in conjunction with double knock with synergistic pre em if possible too ✊- regrowth a major risk. Future gets trickier without paraquat @CropDoctor54@robbert115
@KellyAlspals Hmmm - interesting. Don’t necessarily subscribe to your view but nor to the all renewables are bad argument either. What I would say is that the blame for the disconnect lies with the arrogant vic grid /vni staff who negotiated in poor faith - radicalising farmers against them

Nice move for free public transport in vic sure- but have to remind govt about rural vic where services don’t exist - meaning people remain absolutely exposed to price rises.
@GribbleRC@WheatWatcher I agree it would be great to see an end to Iranian regime rod but this whole thing feels more like an impulsive whim - and I don’t really feel like it’s achieved anything much as yet bar unnecessary death and global turmoil
Government won’t implement a tiny container levy to adequately fund biosecurity in Australia because it’s inflationary but will look to put an inflationary emissions tax on fertiliser imports while excluding any taxes on coal and gas.
Not ag related but what is happening with @theage - the puff pieces on the rich listers, the fawning coverage of some ridiculous $100g to join golf club - what was the point of that article? Still loads of great journalism, just a worrying amount of flim-flam on the side
@sandmanute@Oscarthefarmer Religious nuts are the worst no doubt - but not just Islam - the other parts of the Abrahamic tradition don't exactly have a great track record on that front.
@Oscarthefarmer That is crazy. On one hand One Nation is fulfilling a role in identifying the wild discontent with the two majors but gee a scary situation if they're in a position to be helping form policy with takes like this.
Summer rain can be annoying - but given the outlook for the rest of the year I reckon most here in the Wimmera would take a good soak - hopefully can conserve half at this time of year. Obvs early days, but more and more models jumping onboard.
