If you're ever spent hours making construction of a logo.. making presentation loook clean
Yeah we felt that tooo : )
That's exactly where Gridme started frommm
Just thought designer deserve something that save their time tooo
building @gridme_in rn, basically takes the boring part of logo presentation (drawing construction grids, clearspace zones, color systems) and generates it instead of you doing it by hand for the 100th time
site's live but still mid build, hero video isn't done so there's dummy media sitting there for now. didn't wanna wait around to post about it
by day i'm at https://t.co/otSc7XXuol, a branding studio that actually gives a damn about design
before this, shipped https://t.co/bjz8aIF2gr. reverse engineered how Figma and Framer handle copy paste internally, built my own auth and payments on top, somehow hit 10k users day one. still kinda processing that one tbh
no content strategy here, just building in public and posting whatever's true that day
I built an Illustrator extension that generates logo construction grids automatically.
no more doing it manually before every logo project.

The most valuable creative skill today isn't creativity. It's taste.
I have been thinking about this a lot while building my own product.
We live in a moment where almost every skill has a shortcut now. You can generate copy, generate code, generate visuals. The tools are extraordinary and I use them every day.
But there is one thing that sits outside all of it.
Knowing which output is right.
Not just technically correct. Not just visually clean. But right for this brand, this audience, this moment. The kind of right that a person with good taste recognises immediately and cannot always explain.
That is what design actually is at its core. Not the making. The knowing.
AI is generative. Not creative. It produces from what already exists. It finds the middle of the distribution. It gives you the probable answer.
Good design is rarely the probable answer. It is the precise one.
And the ability to find it is built the long way. Through looking at a lot of work. Sitting with things that do not feel right. Slowly developing an instinct that lives in you and nowhere else.
You cannot prompt for it. You cannot shortcut it.
Taste is the one thing you cannot download.

been quiet on here for a few days, was heads down on something.
been building GridMe for the past few months. it's an Illustrator extension for logo designers, generates construction grids, clearspace zones, and presentation sheets automatically inside Illustrator. the stuff that usually takes half your day on every revision.
it's at a point where i can actually show it. not perfect, still a few things i want to fix, but i wanted real people to use it before i go further.
if you do logo or brand work in Illustrator, would mean a lot if you gave it a shot and told me what you think good or bad.

Figma does have some really good vector editing tools & the Shape Builder also seems to have some magic baked in?
Watch how I only edit one letter and it gets rids of similar issues on the other letters.
took my whole night but yeah, redesigned the whole site finally...
yeah yeah i know, still got a lot of things left to fix
specially replacing all this dummy content
already working on it thooo
