Although Bromley does have many black people these days, it is unusual to see hundreds of them of school age all at the same time and place. Someone must have coordinated their meeting in a racially exclusive way. Their aim can only be guessed - helping themselves to "free gear"?

On Friday afternoon, my wife and I were alarmed to find hundreds of black teenagers stampeding along #Bromley High Street in an apparent attempt to gain access to The Glades shopping centre. A line of police officers kept them out, while shopkeepers locked their doors.

Shortly after this, my wife asked another bystander what was going on and she replied that the police had attacked a teenager! No doubt there is by now considerable video footage labelled as "police brutality" and "institutional racism".
