Dr. Fatima Ali Haider, the founder of The Grief Directory, met Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the UN on the sidelines of the Fourth High-Level Conference on Counterterrorism (June 29-30) convened by the United Nations Office of Counterterrorism (UNOCT).
Dr. Fatima briefed the Ambassador about the work of The Grief Directory, a non-profit organization established in 2015 to support individuals and families affected by terrorism, violent extremism, and other traumatic losses.
She told the PR that her organization serves as a "bridge of compassion" by connecting bereaved families with volunteers, mental health professionals, legal experts, healthcare providers, and other support services.
She said that in addition to providing emotional, psychological, financial, legal, and educational assistance, TGD promotes peacebuilding, resilience, interfaith harmony, and the prevention of violent extremism through advocacy, research, youth engagement, and community outreach.
Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad lauded the role of The Grief Directory in rehabilitation of the victims of terrorism. He especially appreciated Dr. Fatima Ali Haider for her leadership and service to the community.
