Playing well during a game is of course important but wisely and calmly dealing with the bench sitting uncertainties, the trips back to Buffalo, the accountability double standards between high paid players and new rookies from triple A and so on are arguably also important factors in surviving in the MLB. I hope you leap over all the off field and on field challenges and have a successful and rewarding career in MLB Sean.
Hustle and consistency count in pro sports unless you're the highest paid player then you can waddle to 1st at will etc. and be thrown out and strike out repeatedly in clutch situations and still be pampered. But if you are a lower paid player and work hard like Davis but have similar stats to the struggling highest paid player your sent to the minors to shift the blame away from where it really matters.
Congrats on being chosen first Gavin and I hope you have an incredible NHL career for as long as you want. The Leaf's franchise is arguably the 2nd hardest place to win it all after so many great Cup runs in the past. (Canucks are the worst) You'll definitely improve the Leafs' chances in the coming seasons. Don't let fame change you in any negative way. Be like Orr, Gretzky, Lemieux and so on.
@BlueJays@MLB Bravo Sean. I hope you have a great career in MLB but don't be surprised if you are heading to Buffalo tomorrow or in a few days. It is desperate panicky times for the Jays.
@BlueJays I'm only speculating but a decrease in morale and trust by even a few players could be major factors in why a team with this costly talent is in a steep dive in the standings. The recent "panicky" addition of players has so far emulated the shifting of deck chairs on the Titanic.
@BlueJays Here is a diversionary laugh and a lesson on how to win. Outsmart and outplay your opponent. Unfortunately, the Jays are often outsmarted and outplayed due to choices.

@Sudharsan_ak Sophie's brilliant and entertaining. She invented persistent finger pointing as an effective way to embarrass an unruly opponent in sports.
I wonder if Vlad is fuming with jealousy now that Okamoto carries the Jays' power hitting and fielding lead role on the team by a huge margin. Okamoto's success should have inspired Vlad's competitive streak but maybe he's content where he is. This is speculation only and not certainty. I will watch Vlad closely in the upcoming games.
@BlueJays I'm feeling sorry for Okamoto. He might have chosen the wrong team to join this season. Unless a major positive change occurs, it will be a much shorter Jay's season this year. Management and coaching seem powerless to save the season--I hope I'm wrong.
These "comeback" games that end in a loss are far more irritating than a major blowout. Starting pitching is obviously the weakest link for the Jays now but the offensive players, that are often the last resort for a win, take turns striking out etc except for Lukes and Okamoto.... The Jay batters have been mostly wrong lately when they've appealed a strike call during past games including some pitches that are well into the strike zone. If a batter is not accurately identifying strikes from balls, hitting is inconsistent at best. A winning Jays season is in serious jeopardy and many of the players don't deserve it.
Hollywood is more accurately referred to as Deadwood IMO, when it comes to inspiring patriotism and all the other positive examples you posted Miranda. Fortunately Hollywood's influence has been marginalized under an avalanche of streaming services, and numerous other diversions including this social media X site.
@GiannoCaldwell Unavoidable deaths like nature delivers in the form of disease etc are horrible; but preventable deaths are worse-- especially when elected officials refuse to participate in the preventions. Christian was fortunate to have you as a brother and hopefully he still does.
