The Lutheran Northwest Crusaders won their district yesterday defeating a tough Almont team and Burton- Bendle.

@JacobKouba32668 pitched a gem in game one, going seven strong innings with 1 earned and 9 strikeouts. Jake was 1-3 at the plate scoring the games first run when @BrennanGoebel29 hit a hard single to right center. The big blow came in the 6th inning with Northwest leading 2-1, when @griffindel_ hit a huge double scoring two runs. Defensively @EthanWilks2026 and Griffin were solid in the middle infield.

The District Championship game featured @NickOberdier on the hill. Nick pitched a complete game and struck out six surrendering no runs with one hit over three innings. Brennan doubled in the bottom of the first driving in 2 runs. Not to west never looked back and winning 15-0. Nick was 3-3 with 5 RBI’s, Ethan Wilks 2-2, Jake 1-2 with a double and run scored, Landon Lindhurst 2-3 with 3 RBI, Brennan was 1-1 including Two walks with 3 RBI, and @rudy_hauss23 was 1-1 with 3 walks driving in 2.

Northwest is back in action on June 3 at 5 pm at Burton Bendle where they take on Algonac in the regional semifinal.

Lutheran Northwest is 15-1 on the year with lone loss to D2 Lutheran North. Crusaders will square off w/ Plymouth Christian in key MIAC series

After a 2-7 start, Beal City has won 14 in a row. The Aggies have once again played a challenging schedule w/ all losses vs ranked D1 and D2 teams

LHNW beat Oakland Christian 10-0 in 5 innings yesterday to improve their record to 10-1 overall and 3-0 in conference play.

@griffindel_ pitched a gem going 5 innings striking out 11, and only giving up 1 hit.

@lukecharlton_4 and @JacobKouba32668 led the offense and both went big fly.  Luke went 2-2 with a double and a HR, 2 RBIs, and 2 runs.  Jacob went 2-4 with a double and a HR, 2 RBIs, and 2 runs.

@LLindhurst2027 , @JosiahKoub81564 , and Jack Hilligoss had 2 hits each.  Josiah and Jack also had 4 RBIs combined.

@BrennanGoebel29 was 1-1 with 2 walks and four stolen bases, 2, runs scored and a RBI.

Next up is a single game at Clawson City Park 11am on Saturday.

LHNW baseball beat Oakland Christian 16-1 on Tuesday.

@JacobKouba32668 started the game and went 2 innings with 4 K’s.  Josiah Kouba and Landon Primeau each pitched 1 inning in relief.  Josiah had 2Ks and Landon struck out 1.

@NickOberdier smashed the ball all day going 3-4 with a double and a big HR in the top of the 4th. Nick finished with 6 RBIs and 3 runs.  @BrennanGoebel29 went 2-3 with a double, 4 RBIs, and 2 runs.  @griffindel_ also had a double, 2 RBIs, and a run.

Next up is Cranbrook at home Wednesday at 430p.  🛡️⚾️

Varsity baseball swept the doubleheader on Saturday against L’Anse Creuse to improve their record to 7-1.

Game 1: LHNW won 7-4.  @JacobKouba32668 started the game and went 4 innings with 7K’s and only giving up 1 run.  @NickOberdier pitched in relief going 3 innings with 6K’s.  
@lukecharlton_4 led the offense going 3-4 with 2 doubles, and 3 RBIs.  @griffindel_ went 2-3 with 2 runs, and @rudy_hauss23 was 1-1 with 3 runs, 1 RBI, and a walk.

Game 2: LHNW won 10-2.  Griffin Delaney and @EthanWilks2026 both pitched 3 innings each.  Griffin struck out 5 and Ethan had 4K’s.  Rudy Hauss pitched one inning of relief in the 7th.
@BrennanGoebel29 went 2-3 with 2 runs, 4 steals and a walk.  Jake Kouba had a double, an RBI, and a run. @LLindhurst2027 , Nick Oberdier, Josiah Kouba, and Landon Primeau also had hits.

Next up is an away game at Oakland Christian on Tuesday at 430p.

Another good win by LHNW varsity baseball.  9-2 good guys vs Lamphere.  @griffindel_ 2IP 3Ks, @JacobKouba32668 3IP 7Ks, @JosiahKouba81564 1IP 2Ks, and @NickOberdier 1IP 3Ks.

@lukecharlton_4 hit the 1st HR in 2026 with an opposite field blast in the bottom of the 6th.  Charlton was 2-4 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs.  Jacob Kouba was 3-4 with 2 doubles and 3 runs.  Josiah Kouba was 3-3 with a double and a run and RBI.  @BrennanGoebel29 also had a triple and 2 RBIs.

Next up is a fun day at UWM field in Utica for the LHSA round robin on Saturday.  Crusaders play at 11am and 3pm. Let’s gooooooooo

2026 Crusader Baseball Schedule

We had a great 2025 baseball season, finishing 25–8 overall and as one of the top Division 3 programs.

We posted a 7–3 record in MIAC conference play, consistently competing at a high level against tough league opponents. Our season reached a high point with a championship run, as the boys captured a District title.

The success was fueled by contributions from the entire roster, as the boys were a talented and resilient team with clutch performances. The season came to an end in the regionals, where we fell 6-2 to a tough @MarineCityBSB team that advanced to the state finals. Looking forward to building on last years success in 2026. #GoCrusaders
