@LynnLimitless I would give the students different parts of the syllabus and mix them up, then the students have to rotate around the room to find the parts of the syllabus that match up. So like two people each have a different part of the cell phone policy, and the have to match up! #TNTtalks
A4: Nothing too fancy this year, but in the future I would like to something that another teacher at my school does called “Syllabus Speed Dating!” As a fun icebreaker where they can have fun, meet people they may not know and learn the procedures. #TNTtalks
A8: I think having the words up on the word wall is a great help because you can show the students connections from one term to another that they may not discover or may not be as clear from the lessons #TNTtalks
A7: I haven’t done a seating chart yet, although, I believe I would change up the seating chart only if it became a problem. I know some teachers who have lots of success by not changing it at all, and I think it sociologically benefits them not to change #TNTtalks
A6: I have some students who don’t see the point in school, so I try to show them how school is preparing them for the professional world. As well as being honest with them about the long term benefits of education #TNTtalks
A5: Being fair to every student. Some students might require more attention than others and its sometimes hard to meet with everyone and help every student feel like they are heard. Doing my best to work with everyone who comes into my room #TNTtalks
A3: I work on communicating with them that when they are with me, they can work on and finish the assignment so that they don’t have to worry about it at home or get in trouble with their teachers or coaches if the work is missing. #TNTtalks
A1: Positive reenforcement. Thanking students who are on task, while others are being disruptive, for being on task and productive. It boosts their self esteem and more students see that and want that type of positive reenforcement. #TNTtalks
A1: How to incentivize the most students at one time, because what may work for one student, may not work for another. Also how much students can incentivize each other! #TNTtalks
@LynnLimitless#TNTtalks Hi my name is Mr. Griggs and I am a paraprofessional in the SPED department at Krum High School, and I just realized that I analyze the characters’ behavior in the Harry Potter films #GoBobcats
