Black History Celebration Misrepresentation at Chaffey College @chaffeycollege

I attended what was advertised as a Black History Celebration Kickoff at Chaffey College, expecting an event that truly honored Black culture and contributions. However, upon arrival, I saw little to no representation of Black history, culture, or community.

The lack of authenticity was disappointing, but what was even more frustrating was the miscommunication. The email I received clearly stated this was a Black History Month event, yet the actual execution did not reflect that in any meaningful way.

Additionally, my experience was made worse by an interaction with a staff member who rudely instructed us to move our booth. This unprofessionalism only added to my frustration.

If an institution claims to celebrate Black history, there should be real representation and inclusion—not just a label for the sake of appearances.
