"We have to have passion, we have to be dominant, we have to be aggressive...The direction’s going to be very clear and it’s not going to be negotiable. I will need the players to be on board with the right attitude, with the right passion and commitment". Mikel Arteta @m8arteta
Just to remind these same folk:
You’ve not lifted 1/2m kids out of poverty. You’ve just moved them over a bureaucratic line on a Whitehall spreadsheet.
Your ‘workers rights’ are destroying entry-level jobs, hitting young people disproportionately, where unemployment is now over 16%.
You have not transformed the NHS. It’s still the same old wheezing leviathan, just with a lot more dosh and still dismal productivity.
And you’ve nationalised steel and rail before. It was not the prelude to an economic or industrial miracle. Plus you will now have to include their demands for capital/subsidies among all the other priorities already crowding in on the public purse.
Other than that your reminder was useful. Thank you.
A new appointment will bring great relief to the academy after this period of instability in its leadership and direction. As for Jeremy Monga, from day one it was always Arsenal and his pals are waiting for him. A pleasure as always working with @HandofArsenal
The shabby PM collection we’ve had & potential future candidates pose the question How can UK do better???
Interested in @afneil addressing this in the pod
People think an economy that is highly industrialised is wealthier & more resilient than an economy with high shares of business services, media, design, legal services, financial services, research etc? Why would that be?
I would think that a reindustrialisation commitment is going to run very rapidly into flat contradiction with a Net Zero commitment. I can't see how anyone can imagine we greatly expand our manufacturing capacity when we have the highest energy prices in the developed world.
We deserve a Friday night in the Sunshine, after the abomination of ending last home season on a Monday night fixture.
Everyone book half a day off, Upper St from 1pm for the crawl
Arsenal have today launched sales for their new Corporate seating, seats behind the dugout area and new pitch walk, Exclusive area to witness player arrival.
£3199 per seat
This business of condemning "trickle-down economics" is so weird. Do lefties think the UK takes a low share of its taxes from the rich, based on some kind of theory that under-taxing the rich makes poorer people better off? Where do they get that idea from?
He wants to make water bills & energy bills lower. How does he propose to do that? Is the idea that the government will subsidise these bills for the public? Or does he think the price regulation system is allowing for above-competitive market returns? Or will he end Net Zero?
Saka's impact cannot be understated. Played 18 minutes but recorded more Ball Progressions and completed more Take Ons than any other England player. Helped twist the knife when the game stretched.
With both Johnson & Burnham going on from being Mayors to being PM, the big mayoralty roles are now looking very plausible political roles for big players.
Given the SNP stopped Flynn going on his once in a lifetime World Cup trip for this I think we can conclude they also threw the kitchen sink, sideboard and washing machine at it too
One positive for Arsenal is their fixtures over the busy festive period.
Mikel Arteta's side are set to host Manchester City on November 28.
Arsenal then do not have a Premier League game outside of London until a trip to Hull on January 16.
Nine PL games in a row in London.
Tifo idea submitted for Coventry opening fixture :
Giant image of Arteta holding the bloody, severed heads of Pep & Slot in each hand, accompanied with the text ‘’WHO’S NEXT??”
