#India: We are concerned by reports of mass detentions of demonstrators, protest leaders, members of civil society organisations, lawyers and journalists, before and during today’s large-scale demonstrations in Delhi.
We call on the authorities to ensure that the right to peaceful assembly is fully respected and fulfilled.

This is violation of Civil Aviation Laws:
1. @ANI can not board any airplane without a Boarding Pass.
2. @Delhipolice can not DETAIN anyone from Aircraft without a Warrant.
Habeas Corpus violation, Miranda violation, Magna Carta Violation and Violation of Indian Constitution
My father @TusharG was followed and taken to DN Nagar Police Station. Listen to the testimony of the driver who saw the state apparatus pick up a 66 year old unarmed descendent of India’s founders. “Bring my medicine” - his text to me. @RahulGandhi@SauravDassss@neha_aisa
Delhi Police, it is important for you to understand this:
The Nuremberg Principle — Just following orders is no excuse for committing a crime. Every individual is accountable for their actions, regardless of who gave the orders.
WTF!!! after drinking the water Delhi Police is giving to detainees, people have been puking non-stop. What are they even mixing in the water? They have even closed all the clinics. This is seriously so messed up and inhumane.
Neha Bora has been kept in an isolated room after being detained. Her phone has been taken away, and lawyers are being denied access to her.
This raises serious concerns about her rights and access to legal assistance.
UPDATE:
I am in detention. The movement is not.
People are assembling at SAFDARJUNG FLYOVER right now. If you can, reach.
If you are stopped, sit down where you are and hold the line.
🚨SOS🚨
AISA President Neha Bora has been kept in an isolated room after detention. Her phone has been taken by the Police. Lawyers are being barred from meeting her.
That violates Art 19(1)(b), 21 and 22(1).
@DelhiPolice, let her lawyers meet her. Now!
Dear Gen Z,
You may not know the glorious early years of Modi and Shah. Here's a brief history.
Haren Pandya was Modi's home minister when Modi was parachuted in as Gujarat CM in October 2001. Modi wasn't an MLA and had to win a seat within six months. He needed a safe one. Without it, he was sure to lose.
His eyes fell on Ellis Bridge, the safest BJP seat in Ahmedabad. Haren Pandya was its MLA. Modi asked him to step aside. Pandya's reply: "I'm ready to give this seat to anyone but Modi." He had known Modi for years.
Vajubhai Vala was asked to resign. He obliged, gave up his Rajkot seat, and Modi was in.
In March 2003, Haren Pandya went for his morning walk. He was found dead in his car. Five bullets. The story cooked up: terrorists from Hyderabad. It fell apart.
The truth is simple. Sohrabuddin Sheikh and his aide Tulsi Prajapati pulled the trigger. Sohrabuddin ran with Amit Shah's extortion racket. The man who gave the contract is no secret.
When the UPA took over, the CBI picked up the case. But by then Sohrabuddin and his wife were already dead. Tulsi Prajapati followed, killed in a fake encounter. And the man smiling next to Modi in that photograph? D.G. Vanzara. He carried out both killings.
The CBI had audio tapes of Amit Shah. Shah was arrested in July 2011, bailed on one condition: stay out of Gujarat. The case moved to Mumbai.
Judge Loya, an honest judge, had all the evidence before him. He summoned Amit Shah repeatedly. Shah never showed up, not once, even in Mumbai. Loya was about to order his arrest. Days later, Loya was dead, in Nagpur, at a colleague's daughter's wedding.
He had been offered ₹100 crore and the Chief Justiceship of the Bombay High Court for a favourable verdict. He refused to sell his conscience. He paid with his life.
There's more. Read. Remember. This is the gang sitting in the highest seats of power in our great nation.
Metros shut.
Trains halted.
Airlines are cancelling Delhi-bound flights with young people.
Delhi shut down.
Thousands of Police and Para Military forces deployed
All this to save a bureaucrat, because Modi knows if he goes down, Modi goes down.
#Watch | AISA president @neha_aisa explains why the slogan 'Free Palestine' keeps resurfacing in nationwide youth protests and why BJP leaders, including Bengal chief minister Suvendu Adhikari, have warned against its use
This visual really bothers me more than any violence by Delhi Police. How come not even a single cop thought he is a harmless kid, there is no threat, let’s not show our power over him, let him be.
Justice Sharma still not recused? Wth is going on with the judiciary? His son is @ecisveep lawyer getting fat fees from ECI & he is deciding CEC Gyanu’s daughter’s case? Gazab hai!
Telling all our paramilitary brothers- stop taking orders from this illegal govt. Refuse to use force on peaceful protestors. This is your country too.
It is now established beyond doubt that Gyanesh Kumar changed Form 6 illegally and unilaterally.
This is just one more proof of him abusing his position to help the BJP.
He and everyone else involved in this criminal assault on our democracy will be held accountable.
Everyone who is against the protests happening in India today should remember one thing:
Almost every right you enjoy today exists because someone.. at some point in history, refused to stay silent.
The freedom you have as an Indian.
The rights u have as a woman.
Reservations secured for social justice.
Labour rights, civil rights, voting rights, freedom of expression.. none of these were handed out because the 'privileged' politely asked for them.
Someone took to the streets.. someone challenged the system.. someone made their hands dirty.. someone disrupted the status quo.. someone was called 'troublesome' 'anti-national' 'annoying' or ' nuisance'
And today.. we have the privilege of sitting comfortably at home, opening your phone and lecturing protesters about how much we dislike protests.
This very privilege exists because someone before us protested for it.
You don't have to support every protest.. but dismissing protest itself as something that 'shouldn't happen' is a remarkably privileged position to take.

I genuinely believe no PM, CM or Minister should be allowed more than two terms in office.
Power for too long creates arrogance.
They stop seeing themselves as public servants and start behaving like rulers.
Democracy needs accountability, not political immortality.
Two terms should be the limit.
