Repression cannot go unanswered.
EU Foreign Ministers just took the decisive step of designating Iran’s Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organisation.
Any regime that kills thousands of its own people is working toward its own demise.
It was a pleasure meeting with HRVP @KajaKallas. I look forward to continuing our discussions on U.S.-EU cooperation to address key foreign policy issues such as ending the Russia-Ukraine war, peace in the Middle East, and addressing the challenges posed by China.
I called @MIshaqDar50 of Pakistan to condemn all acts of terrorism unequivocally.
Clashes with Afghanistan are taking lives on both sides and risk pushing the region into new instability.
It is vital that the ceasefire is extended and that all parties deescalate.
Today marks a rare moment of hope in the Middle East.
The release of hostages is a major success for diplomacy and a crucial milestone toward peace. President Trump made this breakthrough possible.
Securing peace in Gaza will be extraordinarily complex. (1/2)
The agreements with Mercosur & Mexico are milestones.
Europe doubles down on diversification.
It means new partnerships, with fresh opportunities.
EU businesses and agri-food sector will benefit from lower tariffs, reduced costs.
They will become more competitive globally.
Today’s EU-US Joint Statement secures the best possible terms for EU companies and consumers:
➡️ the EU is the only partner worldwide with an all-inclusive tariff ceiling
➡️ exclusive guarantee on tariff limit for pharmaceutical and semiconductors sectors
➡️ all-inclusive 15% tariff ceiling for the vast majority of products, including on cars and pharmaceuticals
➡️ zero-for-zero tariffs on products like aircraft, cork and generic pharmaceuticals
➡️ a joint commitment to reduce tariffs further
➡️ competitive position for EU exporters secured through continued access to the US market, worth 20% of our exports
➡️ millions of EU jobs are protected
➡️ strengthened transatlantic relations across the board
A 30% tariff on EU exports would hurt businesses, consumers and patients on both sides of the Atlantic.
We will continue working towards an agreement by August 1.
At the same time, we are ready to safeguard EU interests on the basis of proportionate countermeasures.
The 13th EU-China Strategic Dialogue took place today, 2 July in Brussels. The HR/VP @kajakallas met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to discuss matters of common interest and the wider geopolitical situation.

Negotiations on ending Iran's nuclear programme should restart as soon as possible
Cooperation with @iaeaorg must resume
The EU is ready to facilitate this
Any threats to pull out of the non-proliferation treaty don’t help to lower tensions
This is what I told @araghchi today
Iran must never acquire nuclear weapons.
We call for Iran to cooperate fully with @iaeaorg and resume negotiations.
We support all efforts in the region towards stabilization and de-escalation.

Europe is proud to be the leading aid donor globally.
And we're gathered in Seville with one goal: find more ways of mobilising finance.
The private sector must get on board.
That's already at the heart of the #GlobalGateway method ↓ https://t.co/5F6NRKOrPC
Full support to the IAEA and DG Grossi in his task to continue to monitor impartially Iran’s nuclear programme.
This will be key for a diplomatic settlement of the issue.
🇪🇺🤝🇨🇦
Europe and Canada agreed on a Security and Defence Partnership to strengthen Canada's contribution to Europe's defence.
Talks will also begin to give Canada access to SAFE − Europe's joint arms procurement initiative − to boost investment in defence innovation.
Canada is one of the EU’s closest partners – and a trusted friend.
Today, I am proud to sign a new Security and Defence Partnership with Canada.
At a time of rising tensions, it will deepen our defence ties and unlock new cooperation.
Iran must not be allowed to develop a nuclear weapon, as it would be a threat to international security.
I urge all sides to step back, return to the negotiating table and prevent further escalation.
EU Foreign Ministers will discuss the situation tomorrow.
Direct &honest discussions with @araghchi today together with @jnbarrot@JoWadephul& @DavidLammy
Concerns are always best addressed face-to-face
Tehran knows what’s at stake. Escalation would benefit no one. We must keep negotiations open

The EU is following the situation in the Middle East closely.
We call on all sides to abide by international law, show restraint and refrain from taking further steps which could lead to serious consequences.
