@GroundingSesh Thank YOU! Truly appreciated this.
Gosh far too many to list. Just about everyone that'll be performing on 27 Oct is also on that list. Overall good poets who weave magic with their words inspire me; the ones whose poems tell a story you don't easily forget.
@GroundingSesh I'm mashing old and new work into all sorts of wonderful arty things. I don't actually recall a Joburg audience witnessing such a mash up from me 🙂 . So they can definitely expect something different.
@GroundingSesh We've been hearing the importance of putting our written stories out there,& being shy I feel robs us - the world - of such. You never really know what can be achieved until you step out. It's important though to know that not every writer is suited to be a performance poet.
@GroundingSesh@PoetryAfrica@CyrilRamaphosa Performers: Don't try to imitate anyone. We appreciate authenticity in these spaces. Learn from watching others. That way you learn too what can work & not work for you. It's important to improve on what is out there, and on yourself whilst at it.
@GroundingSesh@PoetryAfrica#PoertryAfrica2018 was not just about being on the biggest platform I know of in Africa, but an eye-opening opportunity to learn more about myself not only as an artist. It was beyond the standing ovation.
