Group 4 staff toured the job site of our new Recreation + Aquatic Center for the @CityofSanBruno yesterday. Getting out of the office after a 3-day weekend just felt right….
It was great to see steel framing for what will be a landmark destination for dynamic programming & world-class recreation + aquatic facilities. Soaring volumes, strong indoor-outdoor connections, & integration into City Park stood out to our staff visiting for the first time.

"Increasingly, libraries are building community services into their operational models. As arguably the most public of public spaces, libraries are open to — and used by — people of all backgrounds. Unlike parks, libraries are comfortable for extended visits year-round."
From @VitalCityNYC's "Books Are Only the Beginning", which highlights libraries leading the charge for innovative spaces and service models to address challenges in their community — including past G4 + @IntegrusArch client & collaborator @spokanelibrary. https://t.co/e2dZscWUHk
Hope your Easter is as fun as Group 4's community engagement in Newark (CA) last weekend! We are currently working on a master plan for the city's facilities & enjoyed hopping 🐰 over to Newark to connect with residents on their vision for the future of their community spaces.
Two of our favorite past collaborators —@oaklibrary + @AustinPublicLib —make appearances in this timely essay. Group 4 worked with each exemplary system on facility plans + engagement & design for @oaklibrary's 81st avenue branch.
Why do you love your local library?
(1/2) "To see the concentration, curiosity and peace on faces lit by words is to know...that libraries are the beating hearts of our communities. What we borrow from them pales in comparison to what we keep.”

Group 4 and @saclib received great ideas and input from the community at the first two events last week and are looking forward to another four events coming up in the coming weeks!
In-person community engagement is in full swing at Group 4! Our team pulled together to build our signature mobile design studio boards for regional community engagement events as part of our master plan for @saclib.
“We are all about using design to create social and environmental positive impacts." - David Schnee, Group 4 Principal
