Yes! The aim is not to take away anyone’s cars — just give more options for a diverse set of needs. Public transit is also an investment in people who are prevented, by economic status, age, or physical disability, from driving. Talent flocks to spaces with access to choices!
I’ve said it many times — in my youth, I was dependent on the programming, amenities, and resources brought by my local library. I shudder to consider my life’s outcomes without accessibility to these spaces. It is morally reprehensible to slash such a public good.
Free breakfast and lunch is critical to tackling food insecurity among our most vulnerable student populations. Investing in our kid’s health outcomes is among the most important thing we can do as a society and we’re so glad to see Michigan take this step as a state
Today, @GovWhitmer signed the bipartisan education budget for FY24 that makes the highest state per-student investment in Michigan history, ensures all public school students get free breakfast and lunch, and takes the first step toward free pre-K for all 4-year-olds.
Have you heard of @grow_jackson? If not, they deserve your support! 🌱Ran the Groundhog Gallop this morning to help raise funds for this great organization. #RunJackson
Thanks for the great event this morning, @jinosencio12! Your support for this community is inspiring!
I’m quite proud of the impact created by @grow_jackson and its leadership. Already, the reach of our services is rapidly expanding — this #GivingTuesday, feel encouraged to enable such growth. 🌿
Recent studies have found that crops grown with regenerative practices contain higher levels of vitamins, minerals, and phytochemicals. Ergothioneine, a ‘longevity vitamin,’ stands out as one of the most important in the bunch. https://t.co/OMhBVMWBwa

Our campers have been exploring Jackson this week, working with @grow_jackson to prepare the community gardens and keeping cool at the Splash Pad at Cascades Park.
If you’ve ever thought about getting involved with @grow_jackson we’re having what we hope will be our biggest volunteer event yet THIS SATURDAY from 8-11am! Come check us out if you haven’t before, and if you’re a regular supporter we’d love to see you!
It was a beautiful weekend for a collaboration with @grow_jackson to get their garden at the MLK Center ready for spring! We had around 40 #JacksonMi residents come out to volunteer. It was wonderful to see such a big collaborative spirit between our two organizations!
