@heresyfinancial How much of the increased participation between 1970 and 2000 do you think is attributable to the massive baby boomer population entering the work force then retiring? Maybe the declining participation over the last 25 years is partially just a return to baseline.
@elonmusk Would solar power actually be economical without state support, though? It is not clear to me that current solar technology can compete with fossil fuels on a cost basis. I'm particularly thinking of combined-cycle natural gas, which is cleanish. Coal is cheap, but dirty.
@heresyfinancial We all have to make due in the system in which we live, even if we don't agree to it. If living in the Soviet Union, should a capitalist have chosen to starve instead of getting their groceries from the government-run markets for which there was no alternative?
@elonmusk We will have to go after the entitlements to fix the deficit. The DoD budget is a big contributor too, but relatively small by historical standards and relative to the threat we face from China.
@DrMorganLevine Believe it or not, some people actually vote on policy rather than superficial things like gender. A lot of Trump's policies are not great (pretty bad, in fact), but better than the alternative we had in this election.
