And there's a reason they keep getting cast over and over again. They really ARE that talented. They've been training for YEARS. A lot of them even have MT degrees or were professionally trained in NY/London/SG places where the theatre industry is already so well developed

That's why, if I were introducing someone to musical theatre who's never seen a musical before, I'd probably take them to a production with a proven track record. And if it's a brand new production, I'd probably check out the cast first, or at least the people who work behind it
