Being profitable is not about taking a lot of trades.
Sometimes, the best trade you can take is the one you decide not to take.
Trading requires a clear mind, simplicity, discipline and risk management.
Here’s what I’m learning about becoming a better trader. 🧵👇
Took BE on XAU. Honestly, I could’ve closed earlier, but I kept holding because everyone on X was bullish and my friend said he was holding too.
Lesson learned: Fridays without news aren’t always the day to hold for external liquidity.
Took this loss after already feeling bad from a previous loss. I recognized the price action and had seen it play out multiple times, so I entered manually without any analysis and risked more because of my confident in it.
Paid for that decision.
@Quantradin Yeah, that’s exactly it. The confidence came from seeing the pattern play out before, not from the actual setup in front of me. I let the previous loss affect my decision-making and paid for it. Definitely something I need to work on. 🙏🏽
Top-down analysis showed a Model 3, but there was no clear higher-TF backing bias.
I still wanted to take it because I’m honestly still trying to understand Model 3 and how I’m supposed to use it.
Learning regardless of the outcome. 📚📈
Three different brokers, three different price actions on the lower timeframe. That was a big red flag for me.
I confirmed my bias and had a Model 1 setup, but the price action wasn’t clean across the brokers, so I stayed out.
Sometimes the best trade is no trade.
