𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 (and 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴) is taking local motorists for a ride.

Not only have they flatly refused to reduce parking fees to 𝗨𝗦$𝟬.𝟱𝟬 in line with the government directive, but their billing logic is getting more ridiculous by the day.

Case in point: if you arrive in the CBD just 15 minutes before free parking hours kick in, they will still charge you for a 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿.

Their justification? They claim that just because enforcement marshals knock off at 1 PM on Saturdays, it doesn't mean parking becomes free after that.

Which is complete nonsense. That is exactly what it means:

👉 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲���: Parking is legally free after 4 PM on weekdays, after 1 PM on Saturdays, and all day on Sundays and Public Holidays.

Claiming otherwise after enforcement ends is just blatant revisionism to justify shortchanging drivers.

Why should motorists pay for a full hour when there are only 15 minutes left of enforced parking?

In my view this is one of, if not THE goal of the World Cup.

Just 5 minutes earlier he gave up on the opportunity to take a penalty which had he stored would have made him England’s greatest World Cup goal scorer. He sacrificed that opportunity, in order for his teammate Bukayo Saka to score a hat trick, which he did.

He then went on to deliver a masterclass in sublime ball control culminating in this brilliant goal to make it 6 - 4 to England against France.

Sometimes the good guys DO win. Jude Bellingham is an outstanding human being as well as a talent of a generation. I salute him.

Jonasi Scores Legal Victory as US Judge Dismisses $27 Million Lawsuit

Zimbabwean comedian Learnmore Jonasi has secured a major legal victory after a federal judge in Los Angeles dismissed a US$27 million lawsuit filed against him by South African composer Lebohang "Lebo M" Morake. Jonasi's attorney, Bryan Sullivan, said the ruling vindicates the comedian's First Amendment right to free speech and confirmed that his client will now seek recovery of legal costs under California's anti-SLAPP law, which is designed to discourage lawsuits that target protected public expression.

The lawsuit stemmed from Jonasi's appearance on the One54 Africa podcast, where he jokingly offered a humorous translation of the famous opening Zulu chant from Disney's *The Lion King* song "Circle of Life." Morake, whose iconic vocals introduce the song, argued that the joke misrepresented the meaning of the chant and damaged his reputation and professional relationships, prompting him to seek US$27 million in damages.

Earlier this month, Morake amended his complaint by dropping the original state-law claims, including defamation, trade libel and intentional interference with economic advantage, leaving only federal trademark-related claims before the latest court ruling. Jonasi had consistently maintained that the remarks were clearly intended as comedy and protected speech.
