There is a stigma attached to poor mental health in policing.. We often hear the importance of individuals being ‘tough’ and ‘resilient’, but we must remember they are affected by the things they see day-to-day.

Repeat exposure to traumatic incidents can build up over time and lead to trauma related mental health concerns, including PTSD. It is vital that there is access to the right treatment to prevent serious psychological harm.
