Yesterday, the President of Poland noted that the Order of the White Eagle is not an ordinary award. It is a symbol of the highest trust of the Republic of Poland. It signifies a special bond with the Polish state and the special gratitude of the Polish People. Such a symbol requires not only merit, but also respect for the values that form the foundation of our community.

Therefore, if it is considered that this special symbol may remain with Catherine II, Benito Mussolini, and Gerhard Schröder, then we in Ukraine will not argue with that.

Ukraine is grateful to the Polish People for their support and cooperation, which play a significant role in the struggle for our and your independence from Russia.

Ukraine never forgets solidarity and understands that cooperation between states and peoples in our region is one of the tangible security guarantees for Ukrainians and for each neighboring state.

Ukraine will continue to defend itself in this war unleashed by Russia, and we will undoubtedly achieve a dignified peace.

Ukraine is grateful to all peoples, states, and leaders who will continue to stand with us in the defense of freedom and who, together with Ukraine, will serve as guarantors of postwar peace in Europe and a new, real security.

Ukraine will remain open to all meaningful formats of engagement with Poland in order to try to avoid conflicting interpretations of the difficult and painful chapters of our shared past and to ensure proper respect for all innocent victims of the 20th century.

And Ukrainians are doing everything in our power to ensure that Europe does not suffer defeat in this century.

I am proud of our people and of EVERY Ukrainian warrior – of the millions of Ukrainian men and women who deserve unquestionable respect for the heroism the Ukrainian People have shown in defending themselves against Russian aggression.

We believed that the Order of the White Eagle, awarded in 2023, was meant for the Ukrainian People and our army. That is what was said at the time. Today, I sent the Order back to the President of Poland.

I believe the future will confirm the respect Ukrainians deserve.

A typical day for Russia, which, unfortunately, continues to avoid truly strong global pressure in response to prolonging the war.

At night, there was a series of brutal rocket artillery and aerial bomb strikes on Zaporizhzhia – against ordinary homes and city infrastructure. Sadly, the number of wounded increased during the day. There are fatalities. In the morning, Russia carried out another drone strike on a civilian logistics center in the Kyiv region. No military purpose whatsoever. A deliberate Russian strike against Ukrainian business.

During the day, a strike hit the center of Kharkiv, targeting university buildings. The National University of Pharmacy – for Russia, simply a target. Russian guided aerial bombs continue to rain down on communities in the Sumy, Kharkiv, and Donetsk regions. FPV drone strikes continue in the Zaporizhzhia region. Kherson is under constant artillery shelling.

The only reason Russia can afford all this is because it does not feel pain. Until Russia feels truly significant losses – above all economic losses – it will continue to avoid genuine diplomacy and ending the war. It is crucial that the world respond to every strike. It is crucial that Europe, the United States, the G7, and the G20 do not grant Russia time – time for war. Strong sanctions are needed. Strong tariffs on Russian trade are needed. Strong protection of life is needed.

Потяг Київ-Франківськ, ще званий Стефанія.
В купе приємна білява жінка, 50+, їде лікуватись в Моршин, вона виглядає як людина в очікуванні відпустки, балакуча, стомлена, але намагається бути усміхненою.
В неї системне порушення сну, розповідає, дізнавшись, що я працюю в секторі медицини.
Заходить він.
Військовий, ще дуже молодий, гарний, років 25-27, з великим рюкзаком, карематом, і сумними очима людини, що повернулась з фронту в бурхливий та майже безтурботний Київ.
Наша розмова «ні про що» з жіночкою вмить припиняється.
Ми починаємо метушливо пропонувати йому все що маємо: банани, цукерки, мінеральну воду, заварну каву, бутерброди.
Він трохи ніяковіє від такого натиску материнської турботи, і я починаю його розпитувати, поки він наспіх влаштовується на верхній полиці:
- Ви у Франківськ їдете?
- Так, я вас не розбуджу раніше, сподіваюсь
- Ви сам з Франківська?
- Так
- Додому, до батьків?
- Мами нажаль вже немає..
- А звідки зараз?
- Біля Краматорська служу. 3 дні в мене на все. Доброї ночі…
Через хвилину він вже спав.
Він спить вже 12 годину.
Може за рік це його найдовший та найсолодший сон? ..
А ми з жіночкою перемигуємось знаками, говоримо пошепки, зокрема, попередивши провідницю, щоб слідкувала за тишею в вагоні.
Моя сусідка з самого ранку вже приготувала йому сніданок, витерла його черевики, замовила порцію кави, щоб не закінчилась на інших пасажирах, і дбайливо чекає коли він проснеться.
Бо її сину теж 28, розповідає.
І він зараз воює під Марʼїнкою.
І їй дуже сильно хочеться, щоб він спав в нормальному ліжку, просто спав цим міцним сном молодого парубка. Щоб приїхав додому. Щоб мріяв та будував своє мирне життя.
Вона тихо розповідає про сина.
А сльози душать мене.
За цього хлопчика, який вже втративши маму, ризикував втратити країну, тому готовий втратити за неї своє життя..
За цю добру жінку, як багато жінок сьогодні, кожен день і ніч молиться за свого сина, і за всіх інших синів, що захищають нас на фронті, тому страждає на безсоння ...
Сльози стоять в горлі від того, що стала свідком, як цей юнак, був огорнутий уві сні, справжньою маминою турботою
І як одна жінка, чекаючи на свого сина, готова ділитись любовʼю з усіма українськими воїнами
Вона виходить в Моршині.
І під подушкою юнака, який все ще спить, залишає маленьку іконку, яку вона в останній момент витягає з сумочки
- Будь ласка, передайте йому, що зараз всі ми - його мами...
