@ZackPolanski The problem is not just Palantir, but the mindset that allows them access to so much personal data in the first place. If they go, we have to be careful they are not just replaced with another surveillance hungry organisation.
Better to get to grips with them and take control.

My latest post explores ten things that the EU AI Act could mean for schools with some ideas for implementation. Hope it helps!

@MissIG_Geek Hope you feel better soon.
Iโve been wiped out but was getting failed and negative tests. Doc turned round and said that there are other viruses in the world so there is no point asking for one in particular, and asking to have it again is greedy (had it 4 times now).
@DavidGHFrost When you have people like Boris and ilk claiming to be One Nation Conservatives, it makes those who actually are look significantly left rather than the centrists they are. The loss of those centrists is the biggest loss the Conservatives will have to face.
And all I hope is that within education, the battles of trad/prog die away to focus on working together to bring together a more rounded solution supported by all teams working with children, with the appropriate funds/resources too! 5/5
A rare, openly political post. Hearing that Lord Frost (Brexit bozo) has said the one good thing that came out of the loss was the number of centrist Tory MPs who had lost their seats.

And it pains me to think how divided politics continues to be, and how much more difficult it will make it to fix all the broken bits we find around us. Thank heavens we have more of other parties and independents around. Letโs hope they help balance. 4/n
@ICTEvangelist As much as I liked them, the moment I swapped over to my first smartphone (SONY Ericsson P800), my life was changed. I will probably pick one up as an emergency phone.
As for the kids, it will be an interesting phone to swap them to if we need to support them with downtime!
Fabulous intro to @MakeGosport today. So many interesting projects being done by fellow members and wonderful to see a thriving maker community. Looking forward to having room to spread out and bind.
Together with trade unions, UK- and US-based organisations, and academics, we have written to DSIT Ministers to ask them to drop damaging changes to UK #DataProtection law.
The #DPDIBill returns to the House of Lords today.

A wonderful day today at #PrivacySpace. Still the best Privacy/Data Protection event to go to. Perfect selection of speakers and so good to catch up with many notable experts in the field.
@mburland @msetchell But โฆ you know โฆ phones are evil and should be banned โฆ apart from when certain central and local Govt services need you to access them online, when out and about โฆ but children should never get used to that idea, surely?
