@proinexcel math rules in 1965: Please my dear aunt Sally. Parentheses, multiplication, division, addition, subtraction. Strict order. Now P(MD)(AS) multiply/divide add/sub left-to-right order. For computer coding ease. Makes a difference.
@proinexcel according to the rules of mathematics, the answer should be 40. division before add/subtract: 6/.5 = 12. 48-12+4 =40. It is a poorly worded question. "divided by half" is ambiguous. Is the divisor 1/2? or do we divide by 2, "cutting in half"?
@JessicaBanner13@SenBlumenthal You know the thing that - astounds? Chagrins? Disappoints? me is that in all this flap over Jimmy Kimmel’s rights to foment “permissive violence,” I have not heard once, “You may have a point. But what about Charlie Kirk’s rights?”
@jeff_l_johnson I think it is deeper than “non-partisan.” I think we in the church are swept along by the culture. Thought-provoking article on this topic -

Why is this a headline? “The administration makes clear that it wants the final say on government spending.” Does not the current administration always want the final say on government spending? Is that not the way it should work? Each administration determines its priorities.
@jamesha17859885@elonmusk Uh. He creates jobs. That allows all that other stuff to flow out of the wealth he generates. Bill Gates is a cutthroat businessman. Review his work in 90’s - all the small companies he destroyed. Netscape. Lotus. WordPerfect. … don’t be such a self-righteous prig, James.
.@JDVance: "The American economy last month lost 28K private sector jobs and 46K manufacturing jobs. If you read the jobs report, it says the economy gained 12K jobs all government -- That is the Kamala Harris economy in a nutshell. You're paying higher taxes, higher grocery prices, you're getting worse jobs with lower wages. But the government bureaucrats who work for Kamala Harris are doing just fine."
